Languages
Translate guidance by hand, by machine or with a file for your translators.
People see guidance in their browser's language when a translation exists, and in English otherwise. Cueston supports English, Ukrainian, Polish, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Russian, French, Italian, Japanese and Chinese.
Translate one item
Open the item's Translations section.
- Pick a language and write the translation. For a tour, each step is translated on its own.
- Translate all steps (or Translate all languages) fills in machine translations for you. Read them before publishing: they're a first draft.
- Preview language shows the item in that language in the editor's preview.
Translations are part of the draft. Publish the item to make them live.
Work with translators
For many items at once, use a file. Open Settings → Languages.
Export for translation
- Choose what Content is written in.
- Pick a Format: CSV for spreadsheets, or XLIFF 1.2 for translation tools.
- Under Translate into, select the languages.
- Choose Download file.
Every text in your tours, tooltips, banners, checklists and surveys is in the file, with what's already translated. Each row has a key that never changes, so the file can come back later.
Import translations
Upload the translated CSV or XLIFF file. You see exactly what will change before anything is saved. Empty cells are skipped, so importing never deletes a translation. Imported translations go into drafts; publish the items to make them live.
