Chrome extension

Pick elements on your own site instead of typing CSS selectors.

The Cueston extension is for you and your team, not your users. It lets you click the element a tour step or tooltip should point at, right on your site.

Connect it

  1. Open Settings → API keys. Under Chrome extension, choose Connect Chrome extension. (The dashboard's Get set up card has a Connect extension button too.)
  2. If the extension isn't installed yet, Cueston sends you to the Chrome Web Store. Install it, then connect again.
  3. Cueston creates a key for the extension and hands it over. The editor's header shows when the extension is connected.

Pick an element

In a tour's Steps, or a tooltip's Targeting & trigger, choose Pick element. Your site opens in a new tab. Hover to highlight an element and click to pick it. The selector fills in for you.

More it can do

  • Capture page in the editor's preview shows your real page behind the mock-up.
  • Preview → Edit on site opens your site with the editor on top.
  • With AI guidance (Pro), the extension's Scan page adds a page's buttons and fields to your UI elements.

The extension acts as you, with your role in the workspace. If you lose the computer, revoke its key in Settings → API keys.
