Tooltips
A hint attached to one button, field or menu, behind a pulsing beacon or on hover.
A tooltip explains one thing on one page: a new button, a field people get wrong, a setting worth knowing. It waits next to its element instead of interrupting.
The editor
| Section | What you set |

| Targeting & trigger | The name, the URL Pattern, the element (CSS Selector, or Pick element), and what makes it appear. |
| Content | Title, message and button text. |

| Frequency | How often one person sees it: once, daily, weekly or a custom count. |
| Audience | Who sees it. |
| Goal & experiment | What success means, a control group and its priority. |
| Translations | The tooltip in other languages. |
Trigger and dismiss
- Trigger Type: Click opens it when someone clicks the beacon, Hover when they hover the element, Auto opens it on its own.
- Dismiss Type: Button closes it with its button, Click Outside when they click elsewhere, Manual only when they close it themselves.
Tooltips don't count toward the workspace's interruption limits, so they can sit alongside a tour or banner.
If a tooltip's element disappears after a release, it stops showing and appears under Analytics → Issues. See The element can't be found.
