AI guidance

An assistant on your site that answers your users' questions with real context from your product.

AI guidance is part of the Pro plan. It puts an assistant on your site: your users ask how to do something, and it answers using your product's real interface and your help content, and can point at the right button.

Everything lives under AI guidance in the side menu (you need the Edit drafts permission).

What feeds it

PageWhat it holds
OverviewQuestions answered and average confidence over the last 30 days, and links to everything below.
UI elementsThe buttons, fields and menus of your product that the assistant can point at. Add them with the Chrome extension's Scan page; the snippet also learns them from clicks.
Help docsArticles that ground the assistant's answers in your help content.
GuidesStep-by-step walkthroughs generated from your users' questions. Publish a guide to let the assistant use it.
QualityConfidence, how the assistant responded, questions it wasn't sure about, and which pages lack elements or docs.
AI configA setup checklist, and switches for the features below.

Features

Turn these on in AI config (admins only). They're controlled by Cueston, so your site needs no code changes:

  • AI guidance chat — the floating help widget where your users ask questions.
  • Friction detection — notices rage clicks, dead clicks and long pauses, and offers help.

The assistant can also live in the help hub as its Assistant tab.

Make it better

Look at Quality → Low-confidence questions. Each one points to something missing: scan the page it was asked on, or add a help doc that answers it.
