What you get

  • Installs the snippet for you

npx cueston init finds your app's HTML shell in Next.js, Vite or Create React App and adds the snippet. It shows the file and asks first.

  • Content as code

cueston pull writes guidance to JSON files. Edit them, review them in a pull request, then cueston push.

  • Your role, your rules

Role, plan limits, approval rules and the audit log apply exactly as in the dashboard.

How it works

From an idea to live guidance, without waiting on a release.

  1. Install

Run npm install -g cueston, or use npx cueston without installing. It needs Node.js 20 or later.

  2. Sign in

cueston login shows a short code and opens your browser. Check the code, pick the workspace and approve.

  3. Work with guidance

List, create, update and publish any content type: cueston tours publish 12 --env staging.

  4. Ship from CI

Store an API key as CUESTON_API_KEY and run npx cueston push --publish in your pipeline.

What's included

Same commands for every type
Tours, tooltips, banners, checklists, surveys and announcements share list, get, create, update, duplicate and delete.
Publish, roll back, review
Publish to production or staging, unpublish, list versions, roll back, restore, and request, approve or reject reviews.
Audiences and analytics
Manage segments and estimate their size, read analytics and step funnels, find tooltips whose element went missing, export events.
Translations and previews
Export and import strings as CSV or XLIFF, machine-translate an item, and get a preview link for a draft.
Every MCP tool
Every MCP tool is also a command: cueston tools call validate_content --arg type=tour --arg id=12.
Scriptable output
--json on any command prints one JSON document. Exit codes are 0 for success, 1 for failure and 2 for wrong arguments.

Questions

In `~/.config/cueston/config.json`, readable only by you. `cueston logout --revoke` forgets and revokes it.
