Cueston's MCP server lets an AI assistant you already use build in-product guidance in your Cueston workspace: tours, tooltips, banners, checklists, surveys and announcements. You describe what you want in plain words. The assistant looks at your real pages, drafts the guidance, checks every element it points at and sends you a preview link.
It works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and other apps that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Integration workflow
- 1Install the Cueston snippet on your web app, if it isn't there yet
- 2Connect your AI assistant to the Cueston MCP server and sign in
- 3Describe the user, the page and the task you want to help with
- 4Check the draft on your own product with a preview link, then publish
Connect your assistant
Add the server URL as a connector in your AI app. Your app opens Cueston so you can sign in, pick the workspace and choose what the assistant may do. There are no keys to copy. The MCP setup guide has the exact steps for each app.

Connecting an assistant doesn't put Cueston on your product. A developer adds the Cueston snippet to your web app once; see the documentation if it isn't installed yet.
Try a product tour request
Use Cueston to look at my workspace and the pages it knows. Draft a short tour that helps a new admin invite their first teammate. Use the existing page context and checked selectors, and ask me about anything that's missing. Validate the draft and send me a preview link. Don't publish.
Use it for launches and analysis too
Use Cueston to draft an announcement for our new scheduled reports feature, with a tooltip on its Schedule button. Ask me for any release details you're missing, check the page and send me a preview. Don't publish.
Use Cueston to review my onboarding checklist results for the last 30 days. Report the completion and drop-off data with counts, and say what data is missing. Suggest one improvement without changing live guidance.
What you need
- A Cueston workspace, with the snippet installed on the web app where guidance will appear.
- An AI app that supports MCP, with connectors allowed on your account.
- The relevant pages, UI elements and audience in Cueston. Check anything missing or unclear before the assistant builds on it.
- The right access level. Read-only access can't create drafts; publishing needs edit-and-publish access and goes through your approval rules.
You stay in control
When you connect, you choose one level: read only, create and edit drafts, or edit and publish. The assistant can never do more than your own role allows. Everything it builds is a draft until someone publishes it, and your approval rules still apply. Every action is in the audit log. The MCP launch post has the full workflow and more prompts.
Pricing
The MCP server works on every Cueston plan. Your plan's limits apply to what the assistant creates, just as they do in the dashboard. Compare plans and limits with your monthly active users and the number of live guides you need. Your AI app's own subscription is separate from Cueston.
Frequently asked questions
Can ChatGPT create a product tour in my SaaS?▾
Yes, once ChatGPT is connected to Cueston's MCP server and the Cueston snippet is on your web app. It drafts the tour on your real pages and sends you a preview link. You decide when it goes live.
Can the assistant publish without me?▾
Only if you gave it edit-and-publish access and your workspace doesn't require review. With draft access, everything it builds stays a draft until someone publishes it.
Does connecting an AI assistant install Cueston on my site?▾
No. The Cueston snippet is a separate, one-time install on your web app. The MCP connection only lets the assistant work in your Cueston workspace.
